At Churo, some kids hitch a quick ride
At Churo, a couple of local school-kids enjoy a short ride

With hundreds of miles of back roads and abandoned logging trails, the Copper Canyon region is a true paradise for ATVers. The region offers a variety of ATV experiences from gentle dirt roads to challenging logging trails and river crossings.

A minor bump on the back road into Cuiteco
Returning from Churo, we took the "back road" to Cuiteco. We do stick to roads and, yes, this is a road!

Recently, two Polaris Sportsman 500 ATVs were added to the Oso offerings, these ATVs are available for rent and for guiding groups through the mountains. Shortly after receiving them, they were used for a mapping project, they have also been used to transport supplies to remote mountain schools and are available for mountain rescue.

An ATV Jamboree is planned from 25 April through May 1. this jamboree will feature guided trips throughout our area, cookouts, and other activities. It is being planned in conjunction with Rosen's Rides and ATV Mexico.

In late October, 2003, we fulfilled a decade-long ambition by visiting the famous Lluvia de Oro (Rain of Gold) mine by ATV on a steep, rugged road opened only in August. This town is featured heavily in a book of the same name by Victor Villaseñor. (We recommend his book highly for a good read and for people interested in Mexican culture and experiences.) We turned this trip into an even greater adventure by making it a loop run to the coastal plain through Temoris, Chinipas, Alamos, El Fuerte, Choix, and La Reforma. This trip is being documented in a photo gallery, road logs are being prepared for those who care to follow, and a guided trip is being planned for the first of May.

We're excited to be offering a new adventure sport in our area, an activity that will compliment our other offerings while providing services to our guests and to our neighbors. Check back over the next few months to see how things develop and write us if you are interested.
